You may not have noticed it, but the past few days and weeks there was a huge party going on in Italy for one of the most iconic things ever to come out of that country. And no, we’re not talking about Monica Bellucci. It was the 60th anniversary of the birth of the Fiat 500 city car, and it was marked with 10 days of celebrations.
There have been many parades and driving events covering the best part of Italy in journeys that culminated in a large gala in Turin where they unveiled the . But the 60th birthday of Fiat 500 was not all about gatherings and driving and having fun. It also marked a couple of fairly significant milestones, namely the delivery of the two-millionth Fiat 500 and setting a world record for the most number of cars delivered in 48 hours. Another remarkable achievement was the addition of the 500 to the in New York as a permanent display. In short, it was one helluva birthday, a sort of super sweet sixty!
