New York Auto Show is the venue where General Motors unveils the new 2016 GMC Terrain featuring many styling revisions and some new technology features. It comes in two normal and Denali versions, with the latter being the range-topping luxury version.

Regardless of the trim level, 2016 GMC Terrain features a number of styling updates, including new front and rear fascias, new grille designs, a power dome hood, and light-emitting diode (LED) daytime running lamps. There is also new 18-inch aluminum wheel design for normal and 19-inch for Denali models, as well as new premium cloth, leather, and chrome detailing, depending on the model.

In terms of tech features, for the first time the non-Denali versions of the 2016 GMC Terrain including SL, SLE (SLE-1 and SLE-2), and SLT – can be ordered with high-end equipment such as Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity and built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.

Under the bonnet, the new Terrain comes with an Ecotec 2.4L direct-injected engine (32 mpg) as the standard powertrain, while a direct-injected 3.6L V-6 is available for those who want to trade some MPGs for 301 horsepower (225 kW) and 272 lb-ft of torque (369 Nm). GMC Terrain has towing capability of 3,500 pounds (1,588 kg) and up to 63.9 cubic feet (1,809 liters) of cargo space.
